Seal of Biliteracy AAPPL Test for Seniors
Seniors: Apply for the The Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy and register for the AAPPL Assessment
WVHS Seniors can register now to take all or part of the AAPPL Assessment offered in Arabic, American Sign Language, Chinese (Mandarin), French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, and Tamil (oral proficiency only) OR the STAMP 4S Assessment in Hebrew and Polish ONLY, as proof of a second language proficiency on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 8:00AM (registration deadline 10/08/21 at 1:00PM) at Waubonsie Valley High School in room 299. The Illinois State Seal of Biliteracy recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in speaking, reading, listening, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. Students need to demonstrate proficiency in English and Intermediate-High proficiency in a second language, as determined by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Therefore, students must also provide proof of English proficiency through ACT, SAT, or AP English scores. The Seal is a statement of accomplishment for college admissions and future employers, is affixed to the diploma and designated on the transcript.
