The Warrior Football program just completed
another successful season. The Warrior Varsity team finished 7 - 4 overall with
victories over: Oak Park River Forest, Libertyville, Neuqua Valley,
Edwardsville, Naperville North, Metea Valley and Bolingbrook (1st round of the
play-offs). This senior class surpassed its 6 win total for 3 years with 7

well. Our JV team went 2 - 2 - 2 and beat Naperville Central 3 - 0 in overtime
to finish their season with a victory. Our Sophomores went 5 - 2 - 1 and our
Freshmen finished 6 - 3. This was a very successful season for all levels of
Warrior football. Nine Warrior Football
players were named to the DVC All Conference Football Team. They are: Bryce
Logan, RB; Ryan LeMoine, TE; Cross Holmes, PK; Cole LaPlant, OL; Garrett St.
Clair, DL; Carson O'Donnell, LB; Julian Cain, DB; Harper Cole, DB; & Elijah

The Warrior football season ended with a 4 – 5 record, 4 – 4 in conference. Although the Warrior football fell short of their goal of making the play-offs, the season was filled with exciting games. The Warriors lost a heart breaker in the opening game by a score of 36 – 34. The Warriors staged a valiant comeback in the last 1:29 by driving the length of the field and scoring with 33 seconds left. A missed 2 pt conversion was the difference in winning or losing. The following week the Warriors beat play-off bound Glenbard North with their best defensive effort of the season by intercepting 3 passes in a 19 – 7 victory. Week 4 was another exciting game in which the Warriors led the state ranked Naperville Central team for all but the last 46 seconds of the game. Final score: WV 35, NC 37. Weeks 5 and 6 brought victories over Metea Valley and Wheaton South. This evened the Warriors record at 3 – 3. Week 7 was our Homecoming game vs. Lincoln Way Central. The game was played in a mud bowl the Lincoln Way eventually won 19 – 7. Week 8 brought another exciting game as the Warriors were faced with elimination from the play-offs if they did not beat Naperville North. The Warriors played their best game of the season in defeating Naperville North by a score of 35 – 32. The final game was also a must win for the Warriors who now stood at 4 – 4. A victory would earn the Warriors their 11th straight trip to the play-offs. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as the Warriors planned and the lost 20 – 10. Seventeen great seniors completed their high school careers on this night, they should have nothing but great memories from their high school playing career. They were part of the 2015 team that made it to the Class 8A semi-finals. They were part of the team that upset Hinsdale Central, the #3 seed in Class 8A in 2016. They beat a high scoring Naperville North team and were within 46 seconds of beating a state ranked team in Naperville Central. These senior should graduate with their heads held high knowing that they helped elevate the football program to an elite level. Good luck seniors in your future. The future of Warrior football for 2017 looks bright as well as 33 underclassmen return from the 2017 team and another 30 or more players will join them from the sophomore team. Be ready to support your Warriors in 2018!

This year’s varsity football team finished with a 6–5 record, 5–4 during the regular season and 4-4 in the rugged DuPage Valley Conference. The Warriors had some very big wins over quality opponents starting with their week two win over Glenbard North who was ranked 4th in the state at the time. The Warriors next big win came on their first venture to play an out of state opponent in Fishers, IN. The Warriors defeated Hamilton Southeastern. The Warriors lost a hard fought game on Homecoming to Naperville North but bounced back the next week to beat Wheaton North on senior night and this win qualified them for the Illinois Class 8A playoffs. This is the 10th straight year and 12th out of the last 13 that the Warriors have qualified for the state playoffs. The Warriors were seeded 31st out of 32 teams but once again defeated
the 2nd seed Hinsdale Central Red Devils. This is the 2nd straight year that the
Warriors defeated an undefeated team in the first round of the playoffs. The Warriors final game came against Lincoln Way East another ranked team.

The Varsity season ended with a two game winning streak to finish at 5-4 overall and 3-3 in the conference. We re-established our home field advantage by going 4-0 at home. In fact, all three levels went undefeated at home. The Warriors were a young team this year, starting 14 underclassmen. Their record made them playoff eligible but the team came up one point short of the cutoff.
