Dear Warrior Families,
One thing I know for sure, this school year will be like no
other. With that, let us meet this moment together!
I look forward to the start of this school year, albeit
different as it may be. Along with this, it is with great hope that we will end
the school year in a more traditional fashion so that our students our reminded
of how special this experience is. I will be partnering with all of you to make
the most of our time as we move towards that goal. It will take much grace as
we work to be patient, flexible and empathetic in fostering student learning
Hopefully you have all received and began the process of
registration for the 2020/2021 school year. Information on Return To School and
registration can be found on our school website (http://wvhs.ipsd.org/).
With registration I know come many questions. It will be our focus to begin to
answer these questions in the coming weeks. We will start with the question of
“How will my freshman student begin to transition to his/her new school?”
On our website you will find a document to assist our
Class of 2024 to Learn, Connect and Explore their school, Waubonsie Valley.
Later next week I will be communicating in more detail what a typical school
day will look like for all our students coming back this fall. I know there is
much anxiousness, excitement and curiosity into how this year will unfold. As
everything we do, I will partner with you in listening and work to ease the
transition during this historical time.
I will work to keep you informed and look for ways in
building community with the challenges ahead. This is the first of many steps
toward that. That is my commitment to you as your principal. I am strengthened
in knowing I am in position at this unique time to support this school
community I call home. As everything we take on, we will we do this together,
as one Warrior Community. That is what makes our school community so
On Three 1,2,3…Warriors!
