Course Selection for 2018-19 School Year

Reported by ryan_vankampen@ipsd.org on 1/2/18

The Warriors and future Warriors of Waubonsie Valley are about to begin the very important process of Course Selection for the 18-19 School Year. We urge all students and parents to dig deep into the Course Selection Process to ensure their four year plan at Waubonsie can best prepare them for their future goals!

During 1st period on Friday, January 12th, current students will receive a “Tip Sheet” that provides prompts toward requesting courses. At this time, students will also watch a short video explaining the entire course selection process. Throughout the school day, Math, Science, Social Studies and English teachers will share with students their Core Recommendations for the student’s ‘next step’. Core Recommendations will be seen by parents/students inside of Home Access Center. On January 12th, many classes will also be participating in Exchange Day. Exchange Day is an opportunity for students to visit other classes in order to learn more about their academic options for next year. A full schedule of Exchange Day events can be found on the Beat.

Week of Jan 8th- Current 8th graders receive course “Tip Sheets” and welcome letter.
