Astronaut Mark Kelly at COD

On Sunday, February 17, 2019 at 4 p.m., College of DuPage Department of Physics will welcome Captain Mark Kelly, retired astronaut, author and Navy pilot, to speak on space science along with his time commanding the space shuttles Endeavour and Discovery. Captain Kelly partnered with his identical twin brother, Scott, from the ground in a historic yearlong space expedition and NASA’s unprecedented study on how space affects the human body. Kelly began his illustrious career with NASA in 1996, spending more than 50 days in space.

This talk will be held at McAninch Arts Center (MAC) on College of DuPage campus.

Tickets for this event are $20 for the general public or $5 for students (with proof of school ID). As a guest of the COD Physics Department, you can call and reserve two (2) tickets at $5 each. Simply mention this invitation when you call the MAC box office at (630) 942-4000. Box Office hours are noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday. (Tickets purchased via the MAC web site will be charged an additional service fee and will NOT be eligible for the discounted ticket price).

Immediately following his talk, Captain Kelly will meet with local STEM educators for a private meet-and-greet in the campus Waterleaf restaurant right by the theatre. Light hors d'oeuvres will be served. This educator reception is free but you need to RSVP at http://www.cod.edu/rsvp/mark-kelly-lecture-reception.aspx by Friday, February 8, 2019. Your ticket(s) will be held at will call and you will get to rub elbows with Captain Kelly and your fellow STEM educators.

Note: Last year’s Brian Greene talk sold out, so be sure to get your tickets early!
